Submission Instructions

Abstracts must including title, authors, affiliations and abstract body and may include a table and/or figure.

Please see below for important information and guidelines for your submission.

Author Information

Authors must include first name and last name. 

The lead author should be the presenting author.


Affiliations should include associated organisation, city and country. Do not include title or degrees.



Disclosures will be collected after the podium presentations have been selected.

All presenting authors must submit any relevant financial relationships. Disclosures are not required for co-authors.


Please ensure you indicate which theme best represents your abstract in the online portal:

  • Genetics: Research, Germline, Genomics, Variomics

  • Cancer Pathway-Somatic Mutations, Pathology

  • Epidemiology and Registries

  • Clinical: Diagnosis, Endoscopy, Management, Implementation

  • Clinical: Counselling, Psychosocial

  • Chemoprevention

  • Early Onset Colorectal Cancer


Abstract Title

Titles are limited to 255 characters including spaces. Do not include abbreviations.


Abstract Body

Your abstract must be a maximum of 2,500 characters including spaces (not including your title and author information or any text within tables or images). Abstracts that exceed the word count will be returned.


You will be asked to submit the abstract electronically AND as a Word document. The electronic submission will ensure that you are within the word count limit, and the Word document will ensure that your abstract maintains original formatting in the printed program book. 


Note: the electronically submitted abstract will NOT maintain special characters or formatting.


Abstracts should be structured with:

- Background and Aim

- Method

- Results

- Conclusions


  • Standard scientific abbreviations may be used - non-standard abbreviations should be included in parenthesis after the first use of the full word

  • Present sufficient data to support conclusions - it is unsatisfactory to use statements such as 'data will be presented' or 'results will be discussed'

  • Check spelling and grammar. Submitted material will be published in meeting materials - the abstract should, therefore, contain no errors


Abstracts must not contain copyrighted material unless the author has obtained permission.


Tables and Figures

  • You can include up to 2 tables and/or figures (e.g., 2 tables, 2 figures or 1 table and 1 figure). Do not exceed this limit or the abstract will be returned.

  • Each table and/or figure should be uploaded separately.

  • Tables and Figures do NOT count toward the 2500 character count.


Submissions not meeting the above specifications will not be accepted and returned to the submitter.


Video Abstracts

Video abstracts are an accepted form of abstract submission.

Registration and personal expenses

A condition of acceptance is that at least one author or nominated presenter registers for the meeting. 

Presenters are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and registration expenses. 


The deadline for receipt of abstracts is Monday, November 2, 2020. All presenting authors will receive confirmation of their abstract submission via email.


Abstracts will be selected for presentation based on scientific merit. Notification of acceptance for presentations will be acknowledged by email January 2021.
